My friend smokes after school

Emma, aged 14

"I am 14 years old and have recently started at insituto. After school, I usually go to the park not far from where I live with my friends to get out of the house and to enjoy myself, but recently my friend has snuck out some cigarettes and a lighter from her sister. She then lights it and smokes around me and my other close friends. She then was calling me names saying I was a wuss for not trying it. This made me feel low and depressed as I do not like being called hurtful things. So I tried just one puff and hated it. I felt so dissappointed with myself and knew I shouldn't have done it."

We can feel very pressurised into doing things by our friends and it can be very difficult to say 'No' - especially if you are the only one in the group that doesn't want to do it. We want to support any young person anywhere in Spain who has a question or is concerned about something. Please use the contact form below and we will respond quickly and in private.
