Physical Abuse at Home

Sophia, aged 17

"I used to get physically abused alot at home and there isn't day I don't remember it, it still happens but not as bad as before now I can fight back. It is hard for me to live at home I stay in my room all the time to keep safe and my mum verbally abuses me really badly. I think she is mentally ill but she won't get help. Is there anything I can do?"

Domestic abuse can take many forms and people react to it and cope with it in different ways. The abuse doesn't have to be physical, it can also be psychological. If you want someone to talk to - in private - please fill in the contact form below.

Maybe your parents are fighting, or you're having a hard time with someone else in your family. Sometimes people in families can hurt each other emotionally or physically. It can be hard to know what to do, but whatever the problem is, you can always talk to us about it.
