At school I'm picked on because I'm black

Letter from Jacob, aged 15

My life is a mess. At school I get picked on because I'm black. They call me names and talk about me behing my back. I see jokes about me on facebook because I know who they are talking about. I don't have any friends really at school. I just feel alone and like I don't want to be anywhere anymore.

Help with racism at school

Suffering from racist abuse is extremely upsetting, distressing, and can make someone feel ashamed and isolated. You must not feel like you have to suffer with it on your own. Our charity offers a completely private, 24-hours-a-day support service for teenagers and children who are coping with all sorts of personal problems.

Jacob also felt bullied by his own parents which made him feel even more isolated and without anyone to talk to. Our free 1-2-1 Chat service is an online system that connects you with one of our counsellors. You can talk about anything you wish and at your own pace.
